Support for families with remote learning

Parents and carers of children at IOA primary schools can get support with remote learning during lockdown or during periods of self-isolation when schools are fully open once more.

Support is offered for:

  • Simple ideas to support your child’s reading
  • Helping with homework
  • Overcoming reluctance to learn at home
  • Myth-busting Maths
  • Creating a learning space/zone in your home
  • Coping with digital resources from school

Schools can refer families to the team at CF Education, who can provide face to face support or phonecalls (depending on Covid restrictions). Find out more here.

Volunteering Matters can provide specialist support for families whose first language is not English, in any of the areas above as well as digital literacy. Find out more here.

BT provide some great “how to” guides to digital literacy for parents that cover some of the basics of getting online to more technical help.
