Suffolk TA Network

Abi Joachim, STAN Network Coordinator

The Suffolk Teaching Assistant Network (Suffolk TA Network) exists to support and promote the work of teaching assistants (TAs) and Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) throughout the county by providing a range of training and networking opportunities.

The Suffolk TA Network was launched in December 2020 with the vision of creating a
bespoke service designed and run by TAs for TAs and to raise the profile of professionals
working in schools in a supporting capacity.

You can read our impact report on the first 6 months here.

In 2021 The Suffolk TA Network has grown to a team of three as we now have two new assistant coordinators, Carolyn Love and Julie Clegg. We already have plans to improve and expand the network of this academic year and we would love to have as many Suffolk teaching assistants as possible on this journey with us. Please look out over the next couple of weeks in your school post for our new postcard and flyer telling you how to become a member and introducing some exciting opportunities this year.

We have a brilliant training programme this term – you can catch up with our latest offer and news in our latest newsletter here.

Finally, we want to expand even further and are looking for three TAs to become Suffolk TA Network Champions (one in south Suffolk, one in north Suffolk and one in west Suffolk). As a Champion you would help to raise the profile of the Suffolk TA Network in your area, host some face-to-face training and help increase membership. These posts are for ten days (or equivalent hours) across the 2021-22 academic year and will attract a small pot of funding for release time and to allow the post-holder to carry out the role.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please email me for further information on and look out for the flyer coming to your school soon.
