Two Education Leadership Boards support the Ipswich Opportunity Area Partnership Board in strategic planning for current projects and the future sustainability of networks, expertise and impact.
The Primary Education Leadership Board is co-chaired by Clare Flintoff, CEO of ASSET Education and member of the IOA Partnership Board, and Anna Hennell James, CEO of Orwell Multi Academy Trust. Headteachers representing all of the trusts and LA schools within the Ipswich Opportunity Area attend half termly meetings, providing challenge, ideas and insight.
The Secondary Education Leadership Board is chaired by Craig D’Cunha, Headteacher at Chantry Academy and member of the IOA Partnership Board. The is comprised of all Secondary Headteachers in the IOA, enabling our High Schools to work collaboratively and develop consistent approaches to OA themes and issues.
Abbie Thorrington, Headteacher, Ipswich Academy, Secondary Education Leadership Board
The support from the IOA has been fantastic and something that the community at Ipswich Academy is incredibly grateful for. Additional funding and expertise within literacy and numeracy, as well as the well-being support on offer to students, would not have been possible without being part of the IOA. It will be key that the IOA legacy continues beyond year 5.
Jo Dedicoat, Headteacher, Dale Hall Primary, Primary Education Leadership Board (LA Schools)
Without the IOA we would never have been able to fund or implement our school development to the degree that we have. Through innovative projects and evidence-led approaches we have been able to train 2 Thrive practitioners, 2 forest school leaders, a school coach to obtain a level 5 diploma, a remote learning support assistant and provide targeted CPD for our staff. It has grown into something we need to ensure continues. My school would not have made the rapid progress it has without it.
